At Sports Bug, we’re looking for a warm, compassionate, and creative individual to join our team as a Child Welfare Lead for our Holiday and After School Clubs.
What’s the role about?
As our Child Welfare Lead, your main focus will be ensuring the children in our care feel happy, safe, and supported. You’ll be the go-to person for creating a nurturing environment where every child thrives. There will also be opportunities for you to coach and lead activities if you wish to do so.
What you’ll be doing:
- Caring for Kids: Ensuring every child receives the highest level of care and attention. This includes thoughtful actions like checking that children have finished their lunches, helping them find friends to play with, or supporting those who might find it challenging to say goodbye to their parents in the morning.
- Safeguarding: Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in our care is a top priority. You’ll be responsible for following and promoting safeguarding policies, identifying and addressing any concerns, and creating a secure environment where children feel safe and always supported.
- Brain Breaks: Leading fun and engaging brain break sessions to help kids relax and recharge. These sessions can be one-on-one or with small groups of children who might find the busy, energetic environment a bit overwhelming at times.
- Leading the Care Team: Guiding and supporting other staff members in care-focused roles to ensure a consistent, high standard of care.
- Friendly face: Being that friendly face and trusted adult that kids can always approach.
Who’s this role for?
If you’re naturally caring, love working with children, and enjoy bringing a smile to their faces, this is the role for you! Creativity, patience, and great communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to lead a small team with confidence.
For the right candidate, this role offers the opportunity to work with children with additional needs during school hours. This could involve leading fun and engaging workshops, sports coaching, mentoring, fitness sessions, dance activities, or any other area where you have experience and expertise.
We’re passionate about finding creative ways to support children and would love to hear how your unique skills can make a difference. This is a fantastic chance to broaden your impact and bring even more value to the children and schools we work with.
We are looking for someone who can truly make this role their own, bringing creativity, passion, and initiative to the position. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to take the role to the next level, continuously seeking ways to improve and expand it to deliver an even greater impact. If you’re ready to bring your own ideas and drive to the table, we’d love to hear from you!
